LVL Picks: September Beauty Faves

September Beauty Favorites by La Vida Lati

Writing the word ‘September’ just seems so weird to me. Can you believe we are half-way through this month already?! Bring on the fourth quarter.

As we dive deeper into transitional weather (and for some lucky people out there full-blown crisp fall), I wanted to share some of my current beauty faves that have been helping me transition my look, skin, and hair routine into the cooler season.

From swapping out bright pinks and peachy hues for more muted purples and gray beauty finds to focusing on added volume-and-hold hair products to combat the wind (and let’s be honest, the humidity that comes with summer-to-fall temperatures here in Texas), I’ve rounded up my must-haves for this time of the year.

September Beauty Faves Details:

Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturizing Dry Shampoo — this stuff is so great for a next-day pick-me-up; especially if you’re like me and suffer from flattened roots with your second-day hair. It helps with volume and any extra oils that may have built up at your roots. Bonus: it smells like coconuts!

AHAVA Mineral Hand Cream and Foot Cream — these were a gift, but I’ve become OBSESSED with them. The smell is so fresh and clean, and they leave my hands and feet so moisturized and soft. Also, there are no active ingredients in these creams, so they’re safe to use in addition to any liquid tanners or other active-ingredient skincare items you may use without counteracting their effects!

Essie Nail Polish in Smokin’ Hot and Chinchilly — I don’t know about y’all but ever since COVID-19 hit and I started working from home, gone were the nail salon days. After going through the tedious (and at times painful) process of getting off my nexgen dip nails and letting my natural nails grow out and strength, I’ve started looking at what fun colors I can paint my nails for going into the fall season. These two colors are great because they’re neutral enough to not scream “sweater weather” for those of us in warmer climates, but they’re cool enough to help move you into the cooler weather season.

NARS Audacious Lipstick in ‘Barbara’ — I get asked about this shade ALL the time. I seriously love it so much that, when on an unfortunate night I lost this lipstick out of my purse, I immediately went and purchased another one. I may also be sentimental toward this shade because it was one of my first-ever purchases at the Bloomingdales in New York. This shade is the perfect mix of neutral with warm pink to add just the right touch of color to an everyday look.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum — I was also gifted a sample-size bottle of this stuff, and while I had no preconceived notions about this product, I’ve fallen in love. Even from the moment I put it on, my face feels so supple and moisturized. I can absolutely tell the difference in my skin when I use this routinely! It may be a little pricier, but compared to all of the other skincare products I’ve tried, it’s absolutely worth it.

Cover FX Power Play Foundation — this is my go-to foundation. Its formula isn’t too creamy, so it does well in this transitional weather without streaking or feeling too greasy. Yet it doesn’t flake or chip like other matte foundations. It blends evenly into my skin, and they have SO many shades to match each person’s skin tone perfectly.

Kenra Dry Texture Hairspray — I love just about everything from the Kenra Platinum line, but this dry texture is a must-have in my cabinet. Not only does it smell amazing, it adds the perfect amount of lightweight texture to give a tousled, lived-in look without the frizz but with the hold. While I’ve tried and do love some other texture sprays, this is my absolute number one.
