Fanny packs, bum bags, belt bags, sling packs. Call them what you will—the 80’s popularized bags are making a comeback. Whether you like the trend or not, there’s no denying that sling bags are making their way into the fashion scene left and right.
I’d avoided the trend myself until I ran across this particular bag from Target. Something about the fact that it doesn’t have the same “sack” structure of the sling bags of my youth, nor the plastic buckle snap but rather the weathered bronze hardware drew me to this piece. I purchased it on a whim and thought I’d try it with a few outfits and quickly return it if all else failed (gotta love Target’s easy return policy, #amIright?)
But, Target need not fear, because this accessory quickly made its way into the staple section of my wardrobe. Not only is it super cute, it’s SO dang convenient! It dresses up a basic outfit instantly and frees up your hands for whatever task is at hand.
And I know what you may be thinking: “yeah but will it fit everything?” Just recently I wore this bag out and it held my ID, credit cards, iPhone 11 Pro, lipstick, a small hand sanitizer bottle, and 2 floofy scrunchies. When I took my phone out that evening, I was able to store my sunglasses in there with room to spare.
I love it so much I’ve already purchased the same item in black. Now, if only I could find more places to wear this baby out to!
